Restoring Trust in Marketplaces: The Future of Secure Payments

Seventeen billion transactions take place on Facebook Marketplace every year, yet remarkably, there is still no integrated payment facilitation system leaving buyers and sellers to arrange payments independently, typically through unverified and insecure channels. This lack of protection creates an ideal environment for scammers to thrive, contributing to the staggering $1 trillion lost globally to scams. Securely’s patented payment orchestration technology directly addresses this vulnerability, enabling real-time, bank-verified payments between parties and restoring trust in peer-to-peer marketplaces at scale.

Intelligence in Motion: Why Location Shapes Business Success:

The most underestimated driver of business success? Location. Pizza deliveries can hint towards military operations, fitness trackers have exposed secret training bases, and even public toilets can predict national happiness. Technologist David Herse believes that true intelligence, human or artificial depends on proximity, timing, and movement. Yet many systems operate in abstraction, detached from the messy realities on the ground. Through his work building Mapulus, a spatial intelligence platform enabling organisations to spot patterns and adapt in real time, David reveals why integrating the context of where and when is essential to anticipating what happens next.

Cultivating Intelligence: AgriFood Tech Feeding and Clothing the World

Long before self-driving cars, tractors were navigating fields via GPS. Drones were spraying crops before they became the tech of choice for hobbyists. AI, machine learning, satellite imaging, genetic testing, and advanced breeding techniques have been quietly transforming agriculture for decades.

Now, with global pressures around food security, sustainability, and climate resilience mounting, agrifood tech stands on the frontier of solving some of humanity’s greatest challenges.

This panel brings together leading AgTech innovators to explore how Australia can not only keep pace but lead the world in building a scaled, globally competitive agrifood tech ecosystem.

Together, we’ll uncover:

What defines a world-leading agrifood tech ecosystem
How to bridge Australia’s innovation potential with the capital, talent, and partnerships required
The role of policy, research, and commercial capital in accelerating transformation
And how technologists and startups, even those from outside traditional

AgTech, can reimagine how human and machine intelligence work together to feed, clothe, and power the planet.

The When of Energy: Data-Driven Decisions for a Greener Grid

In a world fixated on how much energy we use, we’ve overlooked something just as vital: when we use it. This talk explores how households can use Consumer Data Right (CDR), situational awareness and behavioural science to make smarter, real-time energy choices. Until now, consumers have lacked visibility into the grid, had little understanding of the impact of timing, and no access to tools that reveal the next best step to take. But with the right data and insights, we can reimagine energy as a behaviour—not just a utility—enabling every household to take an active role in the renewables transition while reducing bills, cutting emissions, and building a more resilient energy future.

AI NOW: Beyond the Hype | Scaling AI

AI is everywhere but for founders and leaders, cutting through the hype is critical. This technical conversation brings together leading experts to expose the realities of deploying AI in today’s commercial world.

Some of the things we will unpack:

Hallucinations: Why LLMs confidently get it wrong and how to mitigate this risk
Scaling AI: The hidden costs and complexities of running multiple models for sustainable business outcomes
Vibe Coding Risks: How rapid, intuition-led AI prototyping fuels innovation early but creates fragility when scaling and what guardrails to put in place before it breaks your product
Decision Traceability: Why explainability isn’t optional in regulated or high-stakes industries
Commercial Implications: The operational, ethical, and regulatory risks startups can’t ignore

If you’re building, buying, or betting on AI, this will give you a clear-eyed view of what’s real today, what’s hype, and how to safely scale AI beyond your MVP without technical debt crippling your future growth.

They’ll share the hard lessons learned, how they managed product outcomes, and the tipping point when bringing tech talent in-house becomes essential.

The Paradox of Progress in Healthcare

We live in a world where a surgeon in New York can operate on a patient in Sydney, remotely, with robotic precision.

And yet… your GP might still fax a referral to a specialist.

We can track rockets to Mars in real time, but a nurse will record your blood pressure on a paper chart.

Healthcare remains one of the last great systems resisting digital transformation, and it’s under immense pressure.

But change is underway. As the system strains, we’re being forced to rethink where and how care is delivered:

Not in more hospitals, but in smarter homes.

Not through more paperwork, but with AI-guided care that lives in your pocket.

The future of healthcare isn’t coming, it’s already here.

And companies like Beyond the Clinic are helping reimagine a more sustainable, patient-centered future.
