Ryan
started his career in the field of Biomechanics & Mechanical engineering.
While writing applications to analyse human movement at the University of
Calgary’s Human Performance Lab he decided to pursue software development full
time. He is a full stack developer & cloud architect with years of
experience working with large scale scientific computing, designing system
architecture, and deploying cloud native applications.
He
leads a multidisciplinary team of specialists from software engineering, devops,
data science, GIS, hydraulics, hydrology, and computational fluid dynamics and
steers them toward a common goal. Reducing the human and economic cost of
flooding to zero, is an ambitious but necessary goal, and it requires some of
the world’s brightest minds and hardest working hands.
When
not working, which is rare these days, he can be found skiing, hiking,
climbing, or paragliding, in either his home country of Canada or current home
in Queensland.
