Arne Laucht is the Head of Quantum Measurement at quantum
computing start-up Diraq, and an Associate Professor for Quantum Engineering at
the University of New South Wales, Sydney. At Diraq, Arne is responsible for
measurement laboratories, equipment, and experiments, having developed
techniques for quantum measurements and control over the last fifteen years. In
the field, Arne is best known for his seminal work on driven qubits in silicon.
Diraq is a full-stack quantum computing company, employing
silicon CMOS qubit technology, developed by the team over the last two decades.
The company aims to redefine scalable quantum computing and bring practical
commercial applications to the world via billions of qubits on a single chip.
It has great potential to deliver major economic value for Australia in the
rapidly growing field of quantum computing.
Arne studied Engineering Physics at the Technical University
of Munich and received his PhD in 2011, and in 2017 was awarded a faculty
position at UNSW. Arne has published over 70 research papers (incl. 20 papers
in Science or Nature journals) that have received over 5,000 citations.
